The bulk of the training for the Electrical & Communications industry in WA is conducted via the College of Electrical Training (CET).

The College of Electrical Training (CET) is seeking skilled persons to join their team of electrical instructors.

Have you got what it takes?

• A current Electricians Licence?

• 5 years’ post trade electrical experience?

• A knowledge of current electrical principles and standards?

• A desire to instruct young persons?

• Qualifications or experience in training would be an advantage

Great Training News for NECA Members- 24 October 2011

The College of Electrical Training (CET) is pleased to announce it has successfully applied for a significant level of funding through the federal Department of Employment Education and Workforce Relations (DEEWR), in respect to some key training courses. What this means for members is, effective immediately,  they or their staff can enroll in certain training courses and pay up to only 10% of the regular course fee. NEW COURSE AT CET: Understanding Contract Law & Contracts

Understanding Contract Law and Contracts course will be coming soon to CET. This course will introduce contractors to some fundamentals of contract law as well as deliver some practical knowledge in regards to drafting contracts, understanding some of the common clauses in contracts, managing risk in contracts, terminating contracts and what to do when a contract is breached. CET lecturer wins National Trade Teacher of the Year 2011

We are very pleased to announce that Rod Grondein of the College of Electrical Training (CET) has won the Trade Teacher of the Year for 2011.

Rod accepted his award in front of 480 attendees from across the electrotechnology industry at the recent NECA National Excellence Awards held at Star City in Sydney on Thursday 25 November.

 

CET wins WA Small Training Provider of the Year 2010

The NECA WA Group, consisting of the National Electrical and Communications Association – WA Chapter (NECA WA), the College of Electrical Training (CET), and Electrical Group Training (EGT) attended the WA Training Awards in the Bellevue Ballroom at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre on Friday 27 August 2010. The event was attended by the Hon. Peter Collier MLC, Minister for Energy; Training and Workforce Development, and showcased the high quality of training in Western Australia with awards across a range of categories including WA Small Business of the Year, WA VET in Schools Excellence, and WA Small/Large/International Training Provider of the Year, plus a number of student and apprentice awards.

This year the NECA WA Group had two nominations up for an award, and The College of Electrical Training was a finalist for WA Small Training Provider of the Year 2010 and ended up winning the category amongst some high quality opposition.

Mr Geoff Hender, General Manager of CET added “Being selected as a finalist and then winning the WA Small Training Provider of the Year is recognition of the College’s excellent achievements in the Vocational Education sector over the past 15 years.”
